As former Chair from 1988-2002 of the scientific assessment of the world's most authoritative scientific body on climate change, called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Sir John Houghton is one of the world's leading climate scientists. He is also a devout evangelical Christian.
In March 2005, Sir John made a presentation to the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE). Both the text of his presentation as well as the slides he used during the presentation are available.

On July 21, 2005, Sir John Houghton testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Senators asked Sir John follow up questions for the record. Both questions and answers offer a window into the current intersection of climate science, policy, and politics. It is comforting to know that we have a senior scientist who is a devout Christian and can answer such questions with authority.
